Caribbean Ports of Call
Day 1
Ft. Lauderdale, FL
Ft. Lauderdale is a gracious desination with sophisticated cuisine, nightclubs and a personality of its own. Some of the best restaurants and shopping are to be found in Las Olas Blvd. and Himmarshee.
Day 3
George Town, Grand Cayman
Famous for the soft white sands of it's 7-Mile Beach, Grand Cayman sports one of the most beautiful coasts in the Caribbean. You can go Scuba diving or snorkel in Sting Ray City where the docile rays will swim so close that you can touch their velvet soft underside. It's also a great place for sailboarding or fine duty free shopping at Kent Freeport, a top jewelry shop in the Caribbean. Be sure to take home some of their famous rum cake.
Day 5
Oranjestad, Aruba
One of the ABC islands (together with Bonaire and Curacao), Aruba is famous for having one of the most pristine beaches of the Caribbean. In addition to beautiful white sand and emerald blue waters, Aruba features a great Caribbean style night life. Being a blend of Caribbean and Dutch cultures in cuisine and architecture, Aruba recently elected to remain a provence of the Netherlands.
Day 7
Colón, Panama
A trip to Colón places you at the mouth of the Panama Canal. Built in the Teddy Roosevelt era, the Canal is now owned and operated by Panamaians and is one of the world's great engineering wonders.
Day 8
Puerto Limón, Costa Rica
Costa Rica knows how to preserve the environment and protect it's natural resources. There is a large number of American retirees to help promote the cause. Bird sanctuaries and laws help protect the forests and it's many animal species. You'll even see monkies and lizards freely roaming around the beaches. Excursions include San José. off roading, banana plantations and coastal hightlights.
Day 10
Cozumel, Mexico
Cozumel is often thought of as the gem of the Mexican Caribbean. Located just 12 miles east of the Yucatan Peninsula, Cozumel is a Scuba diver's paradise with it's beautiful coral reefs that serve as a underwater sanctuary for hundreds of exotic species of fish. Whether you snorkel or Scuba, you'll have a wonderful time as an underwater tourist. Or stay on the surface and enjoy it's beaches.
